The 746th FEAF Band was a US Army Air Force Band that participated in the Philippine Campaign of World War II. From Leyte to Luzon, they played music for service members, civilians, generals, and dignitaries. At times, right on the front line. In 1945, they recorded the only known album by a frontline band unit, created in their tent, outside of Manila.
75 years later, this "band" of brothers' album has been modernized by J&L Historical and some of the most talented sound engineers in the business: Grammy winner, Reuben Cohen of Lurssen Mastering and the talents of Hiroyuki Sanada, whose accolades include a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.
This album/project has multiple goals, but the most important is to celebrate World War II veterans in a modern, unique way. This album is a one of a kind piece of history, recorded as a celebration of the end of World War II. 75 years later, this album is a contender for the 2022 Best Historical Album Grammy. Find the 746th album wherever you stream music and help these World War II veterans earn a Best Historical Album Grammy nomination for the 2022 Grammy Awards.
